DunDunDun is a community of cocktail enthusiasts who share photos, taste impressions, and bar discoveries. These guidelines keep the community safe, respectful, and useful for everyone who uses the app.
By using DunDunDun you agree to follow these guidelines in addition to our Terms of Service. Violations can result in content removal, upload restrictions, or account termination.
21+ only
DunDunDun is an app about cocktails, bars, and alcohol. Use of the app and all community features is restricted to people who are of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction (21+ in the United States). If you are under the legal drinking age, please stop using the app. Do not post content that targets, appeals to, or glorifies underage drinking.
Acceptable content
We encourage you to share:
- Photos of drinks and bars you actually visit.
- Honest taste impressions and notes on cocktails you try.
- Bar recommendations based on your real experience.
- Constructive reactions to menus, rooms, and service.
When uploading photos, make sure they:
- Show the actual drink or bar being reviewed.
- Are clear enough to help other community members.
- Contain no personally identifying information about third parties (faces of other patrons, IDs, receipts with names or card numbers).
- Are your own, or that you have permission to share.
Prohibited content
Do not post content that:
- Is sexually explicit, gratuitously violent, or graphic.
- Sexualizes or depicts minors in any context.
- Promotes, glorifies, or encourages excessive, dangerous, or underage drinking.
- Encourages driving, operating machinery, or parenting while impaired.
- Contains hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory content against any group based on race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Harasses, threatens, bullies, or doxxes another person.
- Impersonates another person, bar, brand, or DunDunDun staff.
- Is spam, commercial advertising, affiliate links, or a coordinated inauthentic campaign.
- Promotes unlicensed or illegal sale of alcohol.
- Promotes other controlled substances or illegal activity.
- Infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, or publicity rights.
- Contains malware, phishing links, or security exploits.
Taste submissions and reviews
Taste is subjective and reasonable people will disagree. When contributing taste impressions:
- Be honest; describe what you actually experienced.
- Do not fabricate details about drinks, ingredients, or venues.
- Do not coordinate brigades to inflate or sink a bar's standing.
- Constructive criticism is welcome; personal attacks on staff and other patrons are not.
Responsible drinking
- Never encourage excessive consumption, binge drinking, or any behavior that puts you or others in danger.
- Never promote drinking while pregnant, driving, operating machinery, or caring for children.
- Respect local laws on alcohol sales, hours, and public consumption.
Reporting and enforcement
If you see content that violates these guidelines:
- Tap the Report button on a photo, review, or profile to flag it.
- Reports are reviewed by the DunDunDun team, usually within 48 hours.
- Content that receives multiple reports may be hidden automatically pending review.
- You can also block individual users to stop seeing their content and prevent them from interacting with yours.
Depending on the severity and pattern of the violation, we may:
- Remove the specific content.
- Temporarily restrict your ability to upload photos or post reviews.
- Permanently suspend or terminate your account.
- Refer activity that appears to break the law to appropriate authorities.
We aim to apply these guidelines consistently, but context matters and judgment is involved. Good-faith moderation errors will happen.
Appeals
If you believe we removed your content or restricted your account in error, reply to the enforcement email or contact us at the address below within 30 days. Include your username, the content or action under appeal, and a brief explanation. We will review and respond, typically within 10 business days. Appeals do not guarantee restoration; the moderation decision is final unless we determine we made a clear error.
Changes
We may update these guidelines as the community grows or as Apple and applicable law require changes. Significant updates will be announced in-app. Continued use of DunDunDun after changes take effect means you accept the updated guidelines.
